The problem
The Narol Industrial area in Gujarat hosts a mix of textile & textile printing (cotton & polyester) industries. Each industry has its own treatment plant from where the wastewater is discharged to the sewage treatment plant. The processed effluent is then dumped into the Sabarmati River which flows for 48 kilometers before reaching the sea. There is no significant intake along this river stretch for potable water.Current Activity
